This fresh take on the traditional tabbouleh salad is crazy-delicious and also extremely versatile. It is not only fantastic straight up as it is, but can be used as a condiment or serve as an awesome prepped food for other dishes.
JUNK FOOD MAGNETS TO HEALTHY KIDS---REALLY??? The world of food that our kids are growing up eating (and worse, believing is "normal") is downright scary. Of course, they not only want to feel like all the other kids (didn't you?), but unfortunately they are also the vulnerable victims of the addictive harmful ingredients that have become the mainstay of our food supply. The good news is that there are some awesome practical tips that can help you navigate this difficult situation (and avoid some eye rolls while you're at it!).

" I think that the idea of “failure” is an illusion that is the natural outcome of unmet hopes and/or expectations—which are simply reflections of our “ego,” not our Truth. Because of this, I would have to describe my “failures” as those times when I have found myself unable to live fully in the present moment and accept life as it actually was." ~ Dr. Theresa Nicassio
As I discuss in this podcast with Astrid, the problem is that the realities of human nature---the psychology of eating and the very complex relationships we have with food have not been adequately addressed. The result? Countless numbers of people feeling like failures---feeling discouraged, disheartened, hopeless and helpless to actually succeed in their efforts to reclaim their health. So then, on top of the physical health issues associated with these conditions, we layer a whole hose of emotional problems on top----depression, anxiety, frustration,....even relationship problems when loved-ones get upset when their partners or parents don't do what they are told to do by their healthcare professionals. Literally, it can turn into a terrible mess.

CAN YOU SAY "PLUMS"? Growing Fruit In Tiny Gardens Who says you can't grow much food in a tiny garden? While it has taken several years to get to this point, and a whole lot of compost tea and TLC, it is mind blowing how much abundance is possible in very small urban gardens....
A DREAM COME TRUE... YUM is a "Best In The World" 2016 Gourmand World Cookbook Award Winner!!! Ironically, this is probably one of the most difficult posts for me to write, even though it is one of the biggest milestones in my life. Perhaps it is because as a cookbook author, the loftiest dream one can have (likened to winning an Academy Award "Oscar") is to one day receive the honour of winning a Gourmand World Cookbook Award. With over 10 thousand entries from 209 countries, it doesn't get much better than this!
YUM is the manifestation of my vision to create the most comprehensive and delectable allergy-friendly recipe and resource book possible. I wanted this book to be the first of its kind to truly embrace the practical, psychological and social complexities of living with special dietary restrictions due to food sensitivities or special health conditions, as well as respecting food preferences that are guided by ethical concerns.
